Kok "I drive unlike a pro" Shen® had been talking about going to the pub ever since we got on the island. So much so that I think he was already thinking about it before he arrived on the island.
Even dreaming about it.
So on the second night on the island, his pestering finally paid off when a few more of them(note how I used THEM instead of US) finally agreed to have a drink in a pub at some other resort.
None was more enthusiastic as Kok Shen®. The first thing he did was to find out the price of a can of Heineken®.
"RM5"
He proudly announced. Which was REALLY cheap, because all the other resorts charged between RM8 to RM9.50 per can. So his announcement got all those buggers that wanted a drink excited.
In the midst of all the excitement, I remembered asking him where he got the price from.
"It's on the notice board lah, RM5"
Since I wasn't drinking, I didn't bother doing anything. Kok Shen® took initiative and ordered a dozen cans. The drinks came soon after.
"RM114.00 Thank You"
Walau, on Redang the GST more one meh? RM114 was WAY more than RM60. The price per can turned out to be RM9.50, RM1 more than the RM8.50 OUR resort was charging. Thanks a million Kok Shen®
Naturally I had to check out this "NOTICE BOARD" that said the price of a can of beer was RM5.

Turns out dear old Kok Shen® was drunk even before he starting drinking.

Miri's alcohol is smuggled one la...that's why very cheap. That's what I've been telling my classmates, if they wanna drink alcohol should come Sarawak. :D
